Patrick R. Shaub is an author, former Marine helicopter pilot, aviation professional, flight instructor, and storyteller whose writing reflects a life shaped by service, flight, faith, rescue missions, flight instruction, and hard-earned lessons. His work draws deeply from his years in and around helicopters, beginning with his Marine Corps experience and continuing into the demanding world of air ambulance operations.
With 50 years of flying experience, Shaub has piloted 60 models of airplanes and helicopters and has instructed pilots in many of them. He has also taught in on-stage, in-cockpit, airplane, and helicopter simulator settings since receiving his flight instructor rating in 1981.
Shaub’s voice is direct, reflective, and personal. He writes about helicopters with technical understanding, but he also writes about people with heart. His books are for readers who appreciate aviation, military service, emergency medicine, faith, and stories about ordinary people asked to perform extraordinary work.
